What is Narrowtives?
Narrowtives is a fiction publication created to explore the narrow path toward Jesus Christ through stories. Author,
, will attempt to extract larger truths and patterns of reality and apply them to works of imagination. While the genre of “allegory” may be most applicable, Narrowtives will not be limited to any particular genre and will also feature occasional poetry.Though Derek is explicitly and unapologetically Christian, readers of any faith are welcome and encouraged to engage with the ideas of this publication.

About the Author
Derek Petty is a former TV news producer and newspaper reporter who, with his wife and daughter, decided to return to his rural hometown in Georgia (USA). The goal was to distance himself from the dreadful hurry of life in a big city and raise his family in a quiet town. In addition to a slower life, Derek decided that he was not living as authentically as he could and is trying (struggling) to actively live as a Christian. Make no bones about it; this is just as hard in rural America as it is in the city.

Derek Petty also publishes a Substack titled Seeking the Narrow. At Seeking the Narrow, Derek explores various inspirations and insights from life in rural Georgia in an effort to find Jesus Christ in day-to-day interactions.
