Looking back the control room was an odd place. It build comradery for those of us in that space together but it was overall too stressful. Too many sights to see all at once. But praise God I never had to actually work a school shooting. Other tragic situations, certainly. But not that.
Thank you so much! This second challenge is going to be a close one. Not that the first challenge wasn't thrilling but everyone definitely stepped up their game in ways from the first challenge.
I'll just say, it's a good thing I'm doing this for fun and the love of writing because there are no clear winners here. To me at lest. Godspeed to Scoot having to sort out the scoring!
You had three characters in the newsroom--Loretta, Sean, and Kevin? Or was it mike? Anyway--you have nothing to worry about. Hit the brief. Reviewing now!
I guess only he will know how strictly he wants to judge something like that but to me, even with that factoring in, the entire thing felt claustrophobic. For me, that was the point.
Wow. I can see now why you don't work in a news room anymore, Derek. LOL. Good for Loretta.

Ah, man, Derek, this was a WILD ride! Love the character tie in with Loretta, and I think you nailed the pacing!

Amen to that! I’m glad I’m not in his shoes!
Read and reviewed! This was a great edge-of-the-seat story, great intensity. Well done!
🙏🏼 much obliged
The Lord has truly blessed you with a gift for writing.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Edge of my seat! I agree. At that point it's time for a new career path! Phew.
Thank you! I'm still wondering if I cheated too much by having different characters share the room by live feeds while not actually in the room...
Of course, I only thought of that this morning after it published. I guess Scoot will let me know!

In my head and hopefully in the story… Kevin alone in the newsroom at the anchor desk but connected to control room via mic and camera.
Loretta, Sean and Mike confined to the control room with Travis and Chelsea only connected via cameras or phones.

Well thank you. As long as you can tell they never left that room maybe I'm okay here. haha
